Chance Voight F4U Corsair
The Corsair was the first Navy fighter to exceed 400 m.p.h. Designed in 1938, this aircraft's career lasted until 1965 - the longest span of any World War II era fighter. Calling the Corsair "Whistling Death", the Japanese lost 2,140 aircraft to her, while only destroying 189 of the Corsairs.
